Maybe, you have heard that there are several kinds of web hosting packages divided according to the level of proficiency. Well, if you have not, you already know! Anyway, it is extremely important to know that choosing the right web hosting package is not a difficult decision as there are just 3 main packages! But it does not mean that you cannot make a mistake whatsoever. Trust me- many people seem to be making a mistake when it comes to choosing a hosting package just because they underestimate the whole procedure. Somebody told them that it was easy and they do not even wish to spend 5 minutes reading an article like this, informing them about what each of the three web hosting packages offers.

If you do not want to be one of these people then you should read very carefully because every single word of the description of the web hosting packages serve to say something. Anyway, I think it would be best if we started with the names of the three most popular web hosting packages (these we are going to discuss): Personal, Business and Dedicated.

The personal package is meant for people who are not going to use the web site for anything serious. For example, it could be for fun, jokes or making the others laugh. However, as long as you do not aim at earning money or have a particular social issue to solve, it is not in the group of “serious stuff”. This package provides the customers with 50GB of free disc space and 1000GB of bandwidth. I do not know what you think about it but it is definitely more than you could even dream about! Furthermore, there is WordPress support available and unlimited number of web sites included.

The business package, unsurprisingly, is meant for people who have intentions to make money out of the website. Logically, they are provided with some more stuff: 100GB disc space and 2000GB bandwidth. Did you already pay attention that it is twice the space offered in the personal package?! It will definitely be useful for achieving your purposes. The package is supplied with all other features need for doing successful online business- unlimited mail addresses, SSH access etc.

And, of course, the proficiency package is considered to be the best of all web hosting packages. It is recommended you use it only if you have great control over the web design and web building otherwise you may find most of the features useless and impractical. I am not even going to describe everything which the package has got because itd take me years- it has got everything you need, I assure you!

How Corporate Web Hosting Is Beneficial For Business

Corporate web hosting provide efficient shared web services for companies or individuals who require advanced features together with a lot of resources to run the high traffic website. These online services easily pull up the business website of the companies over the web and helps in exchanging the resources. For the corporate hosting, the companies give a detailed look to the software required for the maintenance of the site. Moreover an eye upon the security and updates must also be needed. All this exercise is done to make sure that the corporate content kept safe, from hackers or viruses or unwanted spam. The company puts the business website on the web server that ultimately places it on the internet. An individual website address or web-url is given to the corporations so that they get the complete web attendance. These web hosting services are provided by major companies around the globe and charge the corporations on the pay per click basis.

Corporate web hosting is done mainly to cut down the costs and for the companies the better option would be to proceed with shared hosting which also lowers the prices and still provides the desirable result. Sharing web host not-only means that the space will be distributed on the server but they can even use their own web address, which may not be available during shared services.

The hosting companies also offer corporate email hosting that includes checking of email with three different spam and virus detectors, thus keeping the corporate systems safe. The mailboxes provided have 10 Giga-byte memory, so there is no need to delete the mails. The services are ad free and they guarantee the privacy of the inbox. Mail-box are hosted in such a way that they do not choke photos or videos. Daily backup of the mails is also taken. Therefore the corporate email solution is very much required to manage the heavy inflow of emails.
Some points must be taken care of while going for shared web hosting service provider:

The price of the hosting should be reasonable.

The disk space i.e. physical storage space provided to secure all the web site files should be proper.

Bandwidth and data transfer rate should be appropriate.

Companies should provide proper customer support and should keep a complete backup of the corporate data.

The file transfer protocol i.e. uploading and downloading files to and from the server should be provided. Proper operating systems should also be provided.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Hosting your own website and Outsourcing

When deciding on your business hosting first you must decide whether you would like to host the site yourself or outsource it to an established hosting company. There are advantages and disadvantages to both of these options.

Advantages of hosting your own website

Those who decide to host their website themselves are those who want complete control over their hosting. This can be a major advantage to some, especially those who would like to constantly monitor everything about their website and their web hosting. Those who would like to make regular changes to the hosting setup (and want to do it themselves) will benefit from hosting their own site. In some circumstances it can be cost effective to host your own site but only if you have the requirements to have your own server. This is because you wont have to pay another company to do it for you. There is also the potential for an extra income stream, because if you are hosting your own website you may have the equipment and expertise to host websites on behalf of others as well.

Disadvantages of hosting your own website

Although in some circumstances it can be cheaper, the majority of the time it is more expensive to host your website yourself. You may have to hire staff just for this purpose, and the relevant expertise can be costly. You will also have to have you own server and other equipment, and if you dont have the requirements to use this to its capacity you will still be paying for it. If you dont have the necessary expertise it can pose obvious problems, especially if something goes wrong. It is also another area you have to worry about, and can distract you from the rest of your business.

Advantages of outsourcing your hosting

The main benefit of outsourcing your hosting is that you are leaving it in the hands of experts. You therefore should be able to forget about it, which allows you to focus on your core business. Most hosting companies offer 24/7 support, something you are unlikely to be able to manage if you are hosting your own site, unless you have a large team employed for this purpose. This support means your site is being watched around the clock which gives you peace of mind. For some sites this can be extremely important. If shared hosting is adequate then you can share servers with the hosting companys other customers which will be cheaper than having your own server. Colocation can also take away one of the disadvantages of outsourcing: that you have no control. With Colocation you own and maintain your own server but rent rack space at a Colocation centre which will cost less than hosting it yourself as you are sharing bandwidth and other variable with other customers. With outsourcing you can purchase Managed Hosting. Managed Hosting means all your hosting is completely managed for you. This should take the worry completely away from you.

Disadvantages of outsourcing your hosting

As already mentioned, you dont have the same control if you are outsourcing. To an extent things are dictated to you by the limitation of the hosting package you choose and the operations of the hosting company. If something goes wrong with the hosting company, for example if they go out of business or make a mistake, you could have a problem. There could also be a potential security risk if confidentiality is a major issue.

For the majority of businesses, outsourcing is the better option. Most do not have the expertise to host their own website, and can make use of the support an established hosting company can offer. In the end it all comes down to the hosting needs and hosting knowledge of each individual business.

How to choose a Web Hosting Provider! Hostgator vs. Godaddy.

I just went through the process of choosing a web hosting provider. Or should I say Blog Hosting provider. I have been with Godaddy for years and was a happy customer. Then I started blogging using a Word Press blog. Things weren’t going smoothly with Godaddy. At times my blog pages were coming up blank and the load time was very slow. Then when I introduced Firepow to automate my blogging business it got even more complicated. As Firepow is optimized for Hostgator.

I quickly learned about cpanel hosting interface vs. Godaddy’s proprietary interface. The standard is cpanel which is an interface that one can learn to navigate fairly quickly. Plus, most training you will find online provides cpanel instruction. An easy to use hosting control panel is very important when you are creating blogs and websites. Hostgator, also provides the fantastico hosting interface which I haven’t tried yet.

Then there is sql database creation. Godaddy takes a different approach. One cannot just simply point to “localhost” for the location of the database with Godaddy. You need to jump through hoops to find the location. Hostgator provided excellent support and imported my sql database which was a great help in moving my blogs to their system.

It would require a rather long article to provide all the details of the differences between the 2 services. Plus, folks would need to familiarize themselves with terms like: cpanel hosting, web hosts, blog, email hosting, shared hosting, reseller hosting, domain hosting, dedicated servers, dedicated hosting, ftp hosting, domain name hosting, hosting php, ecommerce hosting etc.I would suggest familiarizing yourself with these terms to gain a better understanding of the web and blog hosting environments.

The quick and dirty based on my experience is that Godaddy is great for domain name registration and Hostgator is great for a reliable hosting company. Hostgator has hosting plans from $4.95 per month. It really is not as problem to domain host with one company and use a different company’s hosting server. Just simply point the DS nameservers to the location that your blog or website is hosted at. The hosting provider will provide you with detailed instructions as to how this works.

If you visit the site you will find a 20 percent off coupon among other deals. There are links to domain registration and web hosting plans. It is a great place to start for hosting services and will provided you cheap webhosting. Additionally, if you use Hostgator as your hosting service, I would pay for at least a year in advance which provides even more savings. Hostgator really is a great blog webhost. Additionally if you want to automate your blogging business stop over at and read the article on Firepow.

How to Choose the Hosting Option to Match Your Site’s Needs

When setting up a website or possibly looking for a new web host, there are a number of important factors that need to be taken into consideration. It is helpful when making your selection to not only look at the various hosting options available. You also need to look at your business and website so you can make an accurate match between the two. As you start the process, here are some important things to consider when choosing a web hosting service provider.

What Type of Website Do You Want?

Different types of website will have different hosting needs. For example, a corporate or marketing site requires only a basic hosting package and not much disk space. An e-commerce site requires a database and front end where customers can search for and purchase products online. An e-commerce site therefore will require a larger amount of disk space and be more involved in terms of set up and design. Deciding on the type of website you want will help you determine what your hosting needs are. Many hosting providers have special hosting packages for different types of websites. It is important to match the hosting package to your website’s capacity and needs. If you choose a hosting package that cannot properly accommodate your website, it will result in a site that doesnt function properly or is often down.

How Do You See Your Business Growing?

Most business owners and entrepreneurs have a vision for their business. Even when starting out, they have an idea of how big they want to become and how they want to be positioned in the market. With this vision in mind, think of how it will affect your website. Starting out, you may just want a simple corporate or marketing website. But as you grow, you may want to start trading online or interacting more with your customers through blogs ad other plug-ins. Perhaps you see yourself becoming a market leader with a global database of customers. Think of how you could use your website to help you achieve your goals. Make a note of these different ideas and then consider how each phase can grow into the next. When choosing a hosting option, find one that has the flexibility for upgrades. This will mean that you can keep costs low when starting out but as your business grows, your website can expand to accommodate its needs.

What Are the Basic Essentials to Look for in a Hosting Provider?

No matter what type of package you choose for your business, there are a few basic criteria that differentiate a good hosting provider from a less reputable one. The first and one of the most important is customer support services. A web hosting needs to have a helpdesk that is available to help you with queries you may have. They should be able to troubleshoot your website and check that everything is properly maintained. No website should ever experience lengthy downtime and a good support desk can help you get back online without further delays. The second essential element is website security. You should have your own basic security measures but ultimately the web hosting provider is the first security barrier for your website. A hosting provider that is vigilant about security will help protect your website against viruses, malware and spyware. In this way, they will help protect your business. The third important aspect of a good web host is their maintenance. A good provider will ensure that the servers are properly maintained and regularly checked so your website doesnt experience downtime.
